POETRY
“
Would you let that sick love’s worst intentions fill your soul; fill the holes with the same poison that caused the damage before?
Would you say then love is ill at all? Or does the deterioration it brings depend on whose hands it is in?

PROJECTS & CHAPBOOKS//
A Look at Love // Augmented Reality Chapbook // UNPUBLISHED
A Look at Love is an innovative chapbook project that integrates original poetry and visual artwork with augmented reality (AR) technology, creating a unique intersection of literacy, new media art, and technology. A Look at Love explores the complexities of love and longing, delving into emotional depths and human connections.
Barefoot Journey // AR Chapbook // SHOWCASED
Barefoot Journey is my final Honours New Media poetry Project for my Media Arts and Cultures degree. It is a short poetry collection (printed chapbook) with an interactive augmented reality mobile application. The printed chapbook is a hard cover hand bound book consisting of six original poems – its content about love, loss, depression and grief. Each poem is accompanied by a printed version of an original hand painted visual artwork (adjacent page to poem). For four of the six poems the artwork can be scanned with the app, and with image recognition and tracking, moving objects play as a motion picture (pre-created content) on a 2D plane which interact with as well as function separate from the printed artwork: the AR Experience. The AR experience also includes a voice over of the poem that plays with the motion graphics through the app.
foundered (2021) // Experimental Art-Film
foundered is an Experimental Art Film that translates the psychological and physical effects of the loss of communication between the body (senses), and the soul (emotions). Through movement, the characters express three phases: connection, loss of connection, and death. foundered is highly influenced by personal accounts and therefore aims to translate a sense of emotion and feeling rather than telling a story. foundered was written first as a poem, then translated into a visual and audible concept (with no narration or dialogue) to imbue the project with feeling that solely relies on the viewer’s interpretation of what they are perceiving.
Multiple // Experimental Poem-Films
My interest and focus of creation – as seen with the project Barefoot Journey lies in New Media Poetry. During my time in university I wrote and produced multiple Art/Experimental poem-films.
Labyrinthine Love//
Labyrinthine Love, a short poetry collection inspired by Ann Radcliff’s Fantomina (1725), explores through language how the desires play out between the characters Fantomina (as well as the other characters she assumes) and Beauplaisir (as she is the main characters and he plays a major role in her journey, in the novel). The poems focus on the use of creative literary devices to express, through more ambiguous, thought-provoking language that enforces the theme of Love (or lust) and confusion thereof.
